UAE travel: Etihad Airways “strives to restore” flights to India and Pakistan-News

Applicable to eligible passengers traveling to the UAE and transiting.

The UAE’s flagship airline Etihad (Etihad) on Tuesday released a list of countries/regions that stranded residents can return to or transit through, provided they have received two Covid-19 vaccines in the UAE.

In addition, they must receive Second dose of vaccine At least 14 days before the trip and hold a certificate to prove this.

New exemptions for stranded residents from India, Pakistan and 4 other countries

The travel update posted on the airline’s website says:

According to the previous guidelines of the UAE government, flights from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were previously cancelled until August 15. As some restrictions will be relaxed from August 5th, we are working hard to resume flights to the UAE and connecting flights for eligible guests as soon as possible.

We are also working hard to recover before Cancellation of flights from Bangladesh, only for transit passengers.

Guests affected by the cancellation will be notified directly, and more information is available on etihad.com/destinationguide or through the mobile app. Customers who purchase air tickets through a travel agency are advised to contact the travel agency for help.

Once our schedule is confirmed, eligible guests will be able to rebook their flights and should check the website for updates.

Due to increased demand, the Etihad Contact Center is experiencing a long waiting time, and we ask our guests to contact us only for your urgent inquiries.

Earlier on Tuesday, after the authorities announced an exemption for vaccinated residents, Emirates issued a travel update.Updates listed Eligible customers can fly to the UAE from 12 countries/regions Or just transit through the UAE.

On Tuesday, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA) announced that it will also allow vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers from key departments to enter. These include health workers employed in the UAE: doctors, nurses and technicians.

Teachers from universities, colleges, schools and educational institutions can also return home.

Students, humanitarian cases, persons employed by federal and local government agencies, and persons receiving treatment in the UAE are other exempt categories.
