Riyadh one of top destinations for UAE business travellers: report

[ad_1]

Riyadh, London, New York, San Francisco and Mumbai are the top destinations for business travelers in the UAE – with conferences and trade shows accounting for a significant portion of business travel, among other conferences, according to a report.

According to the findings of leading online travel agency Musafir.com, companies/organizations do not intend to restrict their business travel as they realize the value of face-to-face interaction and ensure the longevity of business relationships.

On average, SMEs in the UAE spend approx. AED 250,000 (USD 68,050) per year (2019) for business travel. Musafir.com estimates travel demand will grow in 2022, rebounding to 80% of pre-pandemic levels.

The findings show that if any unforeseen circumstances arise, businesses are taking a conservative approach, increasing the frequency of travel and limiting the average length of stay per trip to 1 to 3 days.

The data also highlighted an increase in business travellers from India, France, the US, Egypt, Pakistan, Germany, the UK, Russia and China in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, demand for clean 4/5 star hotels offering PCR testing services has skyrocketed.

Co-founder Sachin Gadoya said: “International tourism will recover as we see coordinated responses, safety and health protocols etc. between countries in place, which will help restore people’s appetite for leisure and business travel. Confidence.” “We’re also seeing a variety of technology trends driving business travel to provide a seamless and automated experience and significant cost savings.”

Tourism accounts for more than 10% of global GDP and nearly 12% of global employment. Musafir.com is also identifying gaps in the travel ecosystem and is using their expertise in travel technology to develop an expense management tool that will effectively help businesses save money in unprecedented times.

Musafir.com has recently enhanced its online booking platform to provide its customers and partners with a seamless experience utilizing the latest advanced technologies. Its technology platform can save organizations up to 20% in costs. The company also plans to expand its operations to four geographic locations by 2022 to meet growing travel demand. – arab trade news agency
