Dubai: UAE residents now have more ways to support flood victims in Pakistan. In addition to the government-level channel announced earlier, community associations in the UAE have launched new campaigns accepting cash and in-kind donations.
In an urgent appeal, the Pakistan Association of Dubai (PAD), in conjunction with the Dar Al Ber Association and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, launched a campaign to raise donations for flood victims.
The association said it had decided to “mobilize our community to support our people returning home in the wake of catastrophic flooding in Pakistan”.
Pakistan is currently facing one of the worst humanitarian crises. A third of the country’s land was submerged and the country was in a state of national emergency after devastating floods claimed the lives of more than 1,200 people, including many children, and affected 33 million people in all provinces. People are uprooted, homeless and their livelihoods destroyed.Authorities Approved
Pointing this out, PAD is calling on the community to donate cash or in-kind to affected families through this campaign.
“Earlier, we had to donate directly to Pakistan. In addition to this, we have launched an emergency rescue appeal after getting approval from Dubai authorities,” said a spokesman for the association.
The association has urged the community to donate the following items:
• Tent, mattress, bed, sleeping bag
• Blankets, bedding/sheets, mosquito nets
• Dry food (lentils, beans, rice)
• New clothes and shoes/socks
• Hygiene essentials (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, towels, disinfectant)
• Pottery (utensils, plates)
Donation Guidelines
PAD says all donated items should be brand new and no old or used items will be accepted. Donations can be dropped off at the Society’s premises in Oud Metha from 9am to 9pm daily.
Residents can also support those made homeless by the floods by building homes. Those wishing to help build homes for flood victims can contact the association. More details can be found on PAD’s website.
PAD President Dr. Faisel Ikram asked the community to come forward and donate generously to the cause.
People can also sponsor tents or tarpaulins from Dh50 to Dh1,050, the association said in a social media post. Cash donations will also be accepted to sponsor these items and food packs.

Dr. Ikram also thanked the Dubai government for its sincere efforts to facilitate our campaign and speed up local flood relief efforts in Pakistan. “We are also making a request for support from the international community to help our nation’s resilient people come forward at this critical time,” he added.

Donations in Sharjah
Highlighting Pakistan’s need for community help during this difficult time, the Sharjah Pakistan Social Centre has also launched a campaign to receive generous donations. The center is sending relief packages to Pakistan and inviting community members to participate in this noble cause.
“We are receiving tents, dry food, blankets, new clothes, linen, footwear, etc.,” the center said. Those interested in donating money or sending items can contact the center.
Several countries, including the UAE, have given Pakistan millions of dirhams in relief aid.
