(Menaffin) An influential Emirati academic has assured that the United Arab Emirates’ envoy has returned to Iran.

Abdul Haleq Abdullah, an academic who is supposed to be an adviser to UAE leader Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, tweeted that the UAE envoy Saif Zabi had returned to Iran.

“The UAE Ambassador, His Excellency Saif Zabi, has returned to Tehran to work and open a new chapter in UAE-Iran relations, with his embassy in a more difficult capital,” Abdullah said.

Abdullah also urged Iran to prepare a decent welcome for the Emirati envoy and to facilitate his mission.

Abdullah’s comments came after a conference call between the foreign ministers of Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian and his UAE Sheikh Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan had a telephone discussion, the Iranian foreign ministry said. Discuss the most important issues of mutual concern and the latest developments in the lifting of restrictions.
