Ministry of Education details who can benefit from its first professional practice training platform

The UAE Ministry of Education has announced that it will provide training opportunities for outstanding university students to help them pursue their passions and improve their skills.
These special courses are also designed to meet the needs of private sector employers and will be delivered through the authority’s practical training portal called “Gate”.
The Gate is the first professional platform for hands-on training in the private sector.
The following are the students who will benefit in the initial stages of the platform:
>> Outstanding UAE national students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above in the second, third and fourth academic years
>> From selected public and private higher education institutions licensed by the Ministry of Education
>> Students awarded scholarships from the Ministry, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK)
>> Those who study abroad at their own expense
In addition to establishing direct communication between students and employers, the platform allows employers to search and invite students for training or jobs. Even interviews can be conducted through the gate.
The Ministry of Education has been raising awareness among students about the importance of acquiring new skills and gaining valuable work experience with some of the top employers in the private sector. Weatherford Oil and Gas Services is part of this new program.
The ministry has been keen to match the data students seek with training opportunities offered by companies.
Officials said they are also working to further improve the quality and service of the portal.
