A shuttle bus service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be provided for passengers travelling on budget airlines Wizz Air from the capital.
Passengers can take the bus from Dubai’s Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi International Airport Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
Long-term parking will be available at the Ibn Battuta bus station.
The bus fare will be included in the fare with luggage bus.
The new service will be available following the signing of an agreement between Dubai Roads and Transport Authority and intercity bus service provider Capital Express.
RTA will provide parking at Ibn Battuta Mall and Capital Express will operate the bus.
It’s unclear when the service will be available.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA Public Transport Authority, said: “This will significantly enhance the Dubai-Abu Dhabi transport service, as well as transport services for passengers departing from Abu Dhabi International Airport.”
Capital Express CEO Eyad Al Ansari said the new route will help attract more tourists to Abu Dhabi.
Launched in 2019, the Abu Dhabi branch of the low-cost airline flies to more than 21 destinations from the UAE capital.
Wizz Air also recently launched cheap flights to Maldives, a one-way fare is less than Dh400. Indian Ocean holiday hotspots are traditionally known as luxury travel destinations, and Wizz Air is the first budget airline to operate non-stop commercial flights from Abu Dhabi to the archipelago.
Emirates and Etihad Airways There is also a free bus shuttle service between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
