Police detail steps taken to keep children safe on the road
Abu Dhabi Police released a video on its official Twitter account on Wednesday detailing how to keep children safe on the road.
To prevent accidents and injuries, the following measures must be taken:
1. Security lock
Be sure to click the safety buttons on the rear window and doors to ensure the vehicle does not accidentally open while on the road.
2. Car Seats
Children 4 years and younger must sit in the car seat, not the back seat of the vehicle. The car seat must be installed correctly.
3. Choose the right seat
The car seat must be selected according to the age and size of the child to keep the seat safe while the vehicle is in motion.
4. Seat belts
Seat belts should be fastened to keep children safe on the road.
5. Front Seat
Children 10 years and younger or under 145 cm in height are not permitted to sit in the front seat next to the driver. Instead, they must sit in the back seat with their seat belts fastened.
