Despite the rain, the ninth annual African American Cultural Expo begins today and will run through Saturday, September 10.
Lancaster, Pennsylvania – Tuesday, September 6 marks the start of the week African American Cultural Festival.
The event will be held at Reservoir Park at 832 East Orange Street in Lancaster.
The festivities will include live music, food, rides and a parade. According to the organizers, there will be live entertainment by 26 groups and artists. Performers include Source Award-winning rapper Trina and Grammy Award-winning gospel singer Kierra Sheard.
This is the ninth annual African American Cultural Expo and will run through Saturday, September 10.
Local restaurants, bakers, chefs and food trucks will be participating in the event. Additionally, the Universal Africa Dance, a 77-member dance group, will perform in traditional African costumes.
The show will be held from 5 to 10 pm from September 6 to 9. Saturday, September 10, from 4 to 10
Attendance is free, but there will be food and ride costs. Tickets are $1.50 each. Attendees can also pay $25 for 20 tickets or $50 for 50 tickets.
Carnival Ride Wristbands, available for unlimited rides on the day of purchase, cost $25 each, and will be available September 6-7.
