The hotel is about to open…
To be fair, the city has seen the huge iconic arch that we now know will be called Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi (a project tentatively known as Fairmont Marina Abu Dhabi) rising with curiosity.
This will be Rixos’ fifth hotel in the UAE, with Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi expected to open in the third quarter of 2022. The third quarter is just around the corner, from July to September.
Sitting on the man-made Abu Dhabi Marina breakwater through the rolling seaside blues, it teased us with its dreamy spires and “Atlantis on stilts” aesthetic. The property has no shortage of camera attention, rumor mill plots and wild speculation (guilty). But we now have some concrete(ish) facts on steel. and images. Exciting – some very exciting details: the restaurant.

The hotel will be home to 10 specialty restaurants and bars, including – if you’ve been to Rixos before, you’ll be unsurprisingly aware of – an all-day dining restaurant called Turquoise.
Vero Italiano will bring Southern European flavors to its guests; The Flame – as the resort’s “five-star” steakhouse, everything will start sizzling; Bakery Club will specialize in freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries for diners; People’s Restaurant will offer International fusion cuisine; desserts at Godiva Café; complete the culinary mix with Cuba Cigar Lounge, Privé Lounge and Bar – Anti-Dote.
Lots of event rooms
If you’re a number-centric person, you might be excited to learn that there will be 563 rooms and suites. It will be locked and equipped with a luxurious executive lounge with panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, while elsewhere in the resort you will find a grand ballroom for up to 1000 guests.

The hotel will feature an “entertainment plaza” – a gathering place for international superstar DJs, grand theatrical performances, light and sound shows, and extravagant entertainment spectacles.
There will be three oceanfront pools, with a dedicated area for kids to play in the (shady) sun.

Another crowning feature will be the Beach Club, a facility that has proven increasingly popular in Abu Dhabi in recent years. There will be an ultra-luxurious VIP marina bar and lounge reserved exclusively for those staying in the Superior Suite – a black card and blue tick suit juggling the butler.
fun and fitness
Rixos also announced that the expansive water sports complex will include a “water fountain” (whatever that is), a dedicated children’s pool, an outdoor relaxation area with a health bar and outdoor fitness facilities.
The décor and design execution are inspired by a mix of Turkish (in line with the Rixos brand) and Arabic sources, with contemporary finishes and subtle nods to Abu Dhabi’s pearl diving history.
Hot spring facilities
True to its Rixos DNA, of course – there will be a deliciously luxurious “Natural Living Spa” and, of course, a gorgeous hammam. Teen clubs are also confirmed – including PlayStation Championships, Sports Academy, Rhythm Studio, and even a private movie theater where you can quietly munch on popcorn and boo blockbuster baddies.
When can we stay?
You can now book a room for your October stay on the website, but the official grand opening date is currently a closely guarded secret. Wait for us to get more information.
