The Texas Tourism Recovery Grant Program application window is now open for the Arts, Recreation and Recreation category through September 22.

The program will provide one-time reimbursement grants of up to $20,000 to revive businesses in the Texas tourism, tourism and hospitality industries that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19, the release said, adding that these one-time Sexual grants are reimbursement of eligible expenses to eligible businesses.

Due to the size of the industry and the high number of potential applicants, applications are being accepted in stages by industry code, also known as the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code, the release said.

Eligibility Requirements:

Businesses in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries are determined to be eligible for grants based on basic eligibility criteria, including:

  • Must operate in Texas
  • Operating until January 20, 2020
  • Private for-profit business or non-profit organization
  • Open to the public or serve live events
  • Suffered negative economic impact due to COVID-19
  • Otherwise be eligible for this grant funding and will not be barred from competing for federal awards, including government-wide suspensions and disqualifications
  • Travel, tourism and hospitality businesses or organizations listed in the eligible NAICS codes include 71, 722, 7211, 7212, 5615, 561920, 312120, 312130, 312140.
