World’s tallest building showcases Queen in special light show
On Sunday, the Burj Khalifa paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II with a special light show.
A video shared on Twitter from the Burj Khalifa shows the world’s tallest building displaying a photo of the Queen with the Union Jack behind it.
Queen Elizabeth II died this week after 70 years as Queen.
On Saturday, Abu Dhabi’s landmarks were lit in purple in honor of the Queen.
Numerous international landmarks also paid tribute to the Queen after her death on Friday. On Saturday, the Eiffel Tower in Paris turned off its lights to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth.
In Australia, the famous Sydney Opera House has a special light show on Saturdays and Sundays.
“Last night, the sails were lit in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We celebrate her contribution to Australian life and culture. The sails will be lit again tonight from 6:30 to midnight.” Sydney Opera House tweeted on Sunday said.
