Large-scale design and build, manufacturing expo opens

Technological advancements in the UAE’s architecture, design, manufacturing and industrial sectors will be the focus of the Middle East Design and Build Week (MEDBW) and Middle East Manufacturing and Technology Expo (MEMT), which kick off Monday in Abu Dhabi.

Organised jointly by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) and Connect, MEDBW and MEMT provided an innovative platform for the industry over three days at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The event opened with Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Board Member, His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, and a number of representatives from various ministries, high-level representatives and industry leaders. Distinguished officials.

These activities are supported by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) as a supporting partner, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) as a strategic partner, the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (ADDCT) as a destination partner, Abu Dhabi Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) as venue partner, Etihad Airways as airline partner and leading government agencies and industry associations.

Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy is focused on strengthening the emirate’s position as the most competitive industrial and manufacturing hub in the region. Promoting the development of construction, construction, manufacturing and technology verticals.

“Middle East Design and Build Week and Middle East Manufacturing and Technology Expo are both in line with the government’s initiatives to promote industry development. We invite industry stakeholders to join forces to support the country’s Industrial Revolution and contribute to establishing the UAE as a manufacturing and construction powerhouse. ”

National Domestic Value (ICV) programmes such as Action 300 Billion, Made in UAE and Made in Abu Dhabi aim to promote private sector participation in national economic development by localising key components. Production supply chain and initiatives to promote the development of the sector.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, Chief Executive Officer of the UAE Development Bank, said: “The manufacturing and development of advanced technologies is at the forefront of the economic growth agenda set by the UAE government. MEDBW and MEMT Expo are fully aligned with the UAE’s Economic Development Industrial Strategy. By infusing internationally recognised practices into local manufacturing, encouraging local businesses to lead innovation in the industry, and highlighting potential investment opportunities, these events aim to drive transformational change in the country, a statement said.
