Flydubai launches flights to Namangan, Uzbekistan

Dubai-based airline flydubai has announced the launch of twice-weekly flights to Namangan from 24 September, becoming the first Emirates airline to offer direct flights to Dubai.

The addition of flights to Namangan makes it a third destination in Uzbekistan, including twice-weekly (Tuesday and Friday) flights to Samarkand and the capital, Tashkent, starting September 20.

Flights to Namangan International Airport (NMA) will operate from Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 2 on Wednesdays and Saturdays. With operations to Namangan, flydubai expands its network in Central Asia to seven points, enabling passengers from the UAE and GCC to explore more of the region.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “Uzbekistan has become an emerging market for flydubai and we are delighted to see our network expand with flights to Namangan and Samarkand next week. We are 10 per week The launch of this second flight to the market will strengthen trade and cultural ties between the UAE and Uzbekistan.”

After Samarkand and Tashkent, Namangan is the third largest city in Uzbekistan and has established its importance as a center of trade and crafts. Located in the Fergana Valley, it is known for its ancient ruins, traditional craftsmanship and magnificent architecture.

Jeyhun Efendi, senior vice president of commercial operations and e-commerce at flydubai, said: “Central Asia has become a fast-growing market for flydubai and we have seen continued demand for travel since the start of operations. We look forward to welcoming more travellers from Namangan to Dubai Other locations in the air network, including Jeddah, Medina and Male.”

The airline operates flights to seven destinations in Central Asia, including Almaty and Nur-Sultan in Kazakhstan, Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, Dushanbe in Tajikistan and Namangan, Saskatchewan in Uzbekistan Markand and Tashkent.
