Emirates News Agency – UAE-Bahrain Joint Security Committee meets in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 13th September, 2022 (WAM) — The Joint Security Committee between the UAE and Bahraini Ministries of Interior has convened at the Abu Dhabi Home Office headquarters to discuss enhancing security cooperation, developing electronic connectivity systems, and promoting information and expertise exchange.

The UAE side is led by Deputy Interior Minister Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, while the Bahrain side is led by Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Head of Public Security at the Bahrain Ministry of Interior.

During the meeting, Al Khali conveyed the greetings from Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and welcomed the Bahraini guests to the second country, the UAE. He noted that the meeting underscores the excellent relationship between the two countries, given the keenness of the leaders of the two countries to strengthen the relationship.

He added that the meeting between the interior ministries of the two countries was part of a joint security committee aimed at promoting bilateral relations in the fields of security and police.

The UAE delegation included Major General Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director of the Special Missions Unit of the Abu Dhabi Police Service, Major General Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director General of Residence and Aliens Affairs, Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and the Committee, while the Bahrain delegation included Nationality, Passport and Residence Sheikh Hisham bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Deputy Interior Minister for Affairs, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Customs, Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer, National Cyber ​​Security Centre and other Bahraini officials.

The meeting also discussed various topics, projects, initiatives and best practices in the field of security, including information exchange, electronic connections between the two interior ministries, electronic connections related to traffic offences and courses between police academies that jointly train them .
