The UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation stated at an international forum hosted by China that global cooperation is essential to speed up the distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, stated at the first meeting of the Covid-19 Vaccine Cooperation International Forum that the UAE is determined to ensure the rapid distribution of vaccines and increase global immunity.

The forum was held through video conferences with representatives from more than 20 countries, aiming to connect countries that develop and produce vaccines with companies and stakeholders to promote the equitable distribution of vaccines around the world.

Al Hashemy said that the UAE has been at the forefront of global efforts to fight the epidemic.

She said that the UAE has used its advanced logistics capabilities and transportation facilities and services to work closely with Etihad Airways and Emirates to help speed up the spread of the Covid-19 vaccine in the world through storage and processing facilities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Delivery everywhere. , Thereby geographically covering nearly 3.6 billion people worldwide.

She emphasized that the Pakatan Harapan initiative has provided nearly 65 million vaccine doses to 40 countries. Recently, the UAE announced a US$50 million in-kind contribution to the COVAX program to facilitate the transportation and delivery of vaccines around the world.

The UAE continues to distribute emergency medical supplies globally. To date, more than 2,200 tons of medical supplies have been shipped to more than 135 countries.

The UAE plays an important role as a logistics center through the International Humanitarian City in Dubai, which plays an indispensable role in the transportation of 80% of the world’s medical supplies and preventive equipment. The UAE supports the establishment of fully equipped field hospitals in Jordan, Guinea Conakry, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Lebanon and Mauritania.

Statistics from our data world show that 4.36 billion doses have been injected globally, and 40.31 million doses are injected every day. In low-income countries, only 1.1% of people have received at least one dose.
