More than 850 animals in shelter at risk of losing their homes
A stray animal shelter is on the verge of closing when a member of the royal family steps in to rescue a beloved animal.
The Umm al-Quwain-based shelter called the “stray dog centre” has posted an Instagram post informing donors and well-wishers that it will be closed after a year’s notice.
However, the post quickly gained traction, garnering more than 21,000 views, with several viewers tagging the royal for help.
“872 shelter dogs, 4 wobbly donkeys and 15 cats” are at risk, the shelter said in its post.
Less than 24 hours later, the animal shelter posted another post saying a member of the royal family had stepped in to provide support.
The post informed its well-wishers that the city government and the shelter had reached an agreement and the eviction had been canceled.
“Thanks to the Umm Al Quwain City Government and the Royal Family for their recognition and recognition of the work done by the Stray Dog Centre in the community,” the post said of the Royal Family.
Finally, the head of the shelter signed and said, “Tonight I can rest easy knowing that the dogs, donkeys and cats are safe.”
