Hungary’s Orban supports US “interference” in the 2022 election Hungarian News

[ad_1]

Orban told Fox News, “The international left will do everything it can, even more, to change the government.”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that he is “prepared” to accept external “interference”, including “interference” from the United States next year’s election, which may result in the removal of the nationalist prime minister.

“That will happen, we are not worried, we are ready,” Orban said in an interview with American TV host Tucker Carlson earlier on Friday. He once asked him if he was “worried about being International intervention” in the election.

“Obviously, the international left will do everything it can, even more, to change the Hungarian government.”

The vote held in April 2022 is expected to be a fierce competition. Opinion polls show that Orban’s right-wing Fidesz party and the opposition coalition from left to right go hand in hand.

Since taking power in 2010, Orban has portrayed Hungary as his so-called “non-liberal” stronghold, but he has repeatedly faced accusations of democratic regression in Brussels and Washington.

In last year’s campaign, US President Joe Biden cited Hungary when criticizing the foreign policy of his predecessor Donald Trump.

“You will see from Belarus to Poland to Hungary, and the rise of totalitarian regimes in the world… this president [Trump] Embrace all the thugs in the world,” Biden said on Fox News.

When asked if he expects the Biden administration to try to “prevent” his re-election, Orban said, “Sooner or later, the Americans will realize that Hungarian issues must be decided by Hungarians.”

Orban said: “Even if it is a left-wing liberal government in the United States, it is best to have a conservative Christian democrat and a good partner who has long-term support from the Hungarian people.”

He said: “It is better to have a government like this than a government that has the support of the United States and takes its position, but fails a few months later, causing instability and uncertainty.”

“An unloved but stable partner is better than an uncertain new partner. I hope Americans understand this.”

The 58-year-old Hungarian’s anti-immigration policies, such as building a border fence, won praise from Trump, and Orban called him a “good friend of Hungary.”

Orban told Carlsen that Trump’s “America First” policy “is a very positive message in Central Europe… which means that Hungary may also be number one.” Orban told Carlsen that he Broadcast in Hungary all week.

He also regretted the failure of former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the June election.

“Hungarian conservative Christians and Judeo-Christian democratic ideas have lost two major international supporters, and opponents have come to power,” he said.

Carlson is one of the most popular commentators on Fox Networks, and he praised Orban on the Budapest show.
