The Mumbai Indians have announced that former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond has been named head coach of their MI Emirates team in the International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates.

Bond is also the bowling coach for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and will be assisted by Parthiv Patel (batting coach), Vinay Kumar (bowling coach) and James Franklin (fielding coach).
Former India international Robin Singh has been appointed as the team’s general manager.
“It’s always exciting to build a new team and I look forward to building on MI’s legacy and inspiring our players to take the game to new heights,” Bond, 47, said in a statement.
Launching in January, the six-team ILT20 will be the second most lucrative Twenty20 tournament in terms of player compensation after the trend-setting IPL.
While the ILT20 schedule is not over yet, the event will run from January 2023 to February 2023 in the same time window as the South African SA20 League.
