The partnership agreement was signed by NCHR Director Khalil Ibrahim Qayed and Mediclinic Middle East CEO David Hadley at the Ministry of Health headquarters in the presence of MoHAP Deputy Minister Dr Mohammed Salim Al Olama. Several senior officials from both entities attended the meeting.
Commenting on this, Al Olama stressed that the ministry is keen to engage the private sector in the development of comprehensive programmes, programmes and initiatives to provide an innovative research environment that fosters knowledge and innovation, helps to develop and support scientific research, while instilling a commitment to compliance with the highest Internationally practiced health research culture.
“These factors will help us strengthen the country’s competitiveness locally and internationally, cement the UAE’s position as an ideal destination for scientific and medical research, and enhance its reputation as a dynamic country in global health,” Al Olama added.
Hadley said: “Mediclinic Middle East operates on the basis of our company philosophy ‘Science of Nursing’. Our aim is to equip all of our physicians with practical and rigorous knowledge, which enables them to use the highest level of evidence-based medicine to Treat their patients.”
He added: “The existing research programme at the Middle East Medical Centre has been in place for several years and has made a significant contribution to achieving this goal. However, we are delighted to further expand its scope to develop and enhance capabilities in the fields of health and medical research. We are very much looking forward to a unique public-private partnership with them, which will greatly contribute to the overall deepening of knowledge in the healthcare sector in the UAE.”
