The prayer is said to be in gratitude for the “service, love and faith” shown by Queen Elizabeth in her pledged service on Monday (09/19/22).

Principal Sandringham, Minister Crathie Kirk and the chaplain of Windsor Great Park Chapel Royal read a series of prayers inside St George’s Chapel in Windsor asking God to remember the Queen and grant her eternal rest 11 days after her death, aged 96.

The first prayer read by Sandringham principal Paul Williams said: “Lord, remember your servant Elizabeth, who walked before us with the sign of faith and is now at rest. By your promise, To her and all who rest in Christ, rejuvenation, light, and peace; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”

The next read by Rvd Kenneth Mackenzie, Minister Crathie Kirk said: “Merciful Father and Lord of all life, we praise you, who created us in your image and we reflect your truth and light.

“We are especially grateful for the life of your daughter Elizabeth, for the kindness she has received from you, and for the example she has set before our eyes through her life of service, love and faith.

“Above all, we rejoice in your gracious promise to all your servants, living and deceased, that we shall be resurrected at the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We pray that in due time, when we are together in the same When we see your face in our Lord Jesus Christ, we can share a clearer vision with our sisters. Amen.”

The third, read by the Rev. Canon Anthony Howe, called for peace to those who have passed away.

He read: “O Father of All, we pray to you for those whom we love but shall never see again. Give them peace; let the light shine upon them forever; and with your loving wisdom and almighty the power of thy perfect will in them; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”

The fourth said: “Lord, sustain our troubled life all day long, till the shadows are drawn, the evening comes, the busy world is quiet, the frenzy of life is over, and our work is done; then, Lord, with your Mercy, grant us a safe abode, holy rest, and last peace; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”

The fifth request blesses King Charles and his family.

It reads: “God Almighty, King of Creation, bless our King and all members of the royal family. May godliness be their guide, may holiness be their strength, may peace on earth be the fruit of their labor, and may they be in heaven Your joy is your eternal gift; through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”

Article VI says: “God bless our gracious monarch and all living and deceased companions, the most noble and noble Order of the Garter. Amen.”
