Israel attacks Gaza’s Hamas Base in response to fire balloons | Gaza News

[ad_1]

The Palestinians stated that the balloons were designed to put pressure on Israel to relax restrictions on coastal enclaves that were tightened in May.

The Israeli military said that Israeli aircraft bombed the Hamas Base in the Gaza Strip on Saturday in response to burning balloons launched from a Palestinian enclave.

The Israeli military stated that the attack was aimed at a rocket launch site and a compound belonging to Hamas, a political group that governs Gaza. There are currently no direct reports of casualties or damage.

Hamas did not immediately comment.

New Press publications posted on social media posts showing that there were beams of light in the Gaza Strip when Israeli aircraft fired in retaliation for the attack.

New Press also reported that Israel has targeted three locations, including Beit Hanoun and Jabalya.

Since the ceasefire on May 21 ended the 11-day battle between Israel and Hamas, Palestinians in Gaza have sporadically launched balloons filled with incendiary materials at the border, causing fires and burning down Israeli fields.

After Israel issued new restrictions during the bombing of Gaza in May, incendiary balloons had previously been used to counter the strengthening of Israel’s blockade of coastal enclaves.

After Israel relaxed some restrictions on the Gaza Strip, most of the balloon launches were reduced.

But on Friday, the balloon was launched again from Gaza, causing at least four bushfires in the area near the Israeli-Gaza border.

The Israeli military stated that its airstrikes were “a response to the continuous launch of burning balloons from Gaza to Israel throughout the day.”

Due to increased regional tensions with Iran, Israel conducted a third day of cross-border salvos with Lebanon-backed Hezbollah on its northern border, and a fire broke out on the Gaza border on Friday.
