The ruler of Dubai announced on Monday that it has opened three new highways connecting the emirates of the UAE.

A series of infrastructure projects worth 1.95 billion dirhams were launched today, aiming to shorten the distance and transit time between various regions of the country and the emirate.
“We have opened up a road connecting Mariha in Sharjah with Al Shuwaib in Abu Dhabi, another connecting Hatta in Dubai with Masfout in Ajman and the Al-Qour mountain range in Ras Al Khaimah,” Sheikh Mohammed explained .
He added that the third road strengthens the connection between Al Madam in Sharjah and Hatta Dubai Road.

When emphasizing the national vision, the Vice President of the UAE said: “Since the establishment of our country, the infrastructure has been developing steadily, and we will continue to build the UAE unremittingly.”
It is expected that the new project will also promote business growth and encourage domestic tourism.
He said: “We are constantly seeking to implement new strategic projects to create economic value by more closely integrating all regions of the country, increasing productivity and creating new investment prospects, thereby bringing new opportunities to the people and institutions of the country.”
“The UAE remains committed to providing the public and private sectors with the resources needed to accelerate growth and innovation. Our infrastructure initiatives aim to strengthen the country’s position as a global model for sustainable development and provide its people with the best in the world. The quality of life is comparable to the quality of life,” he added.
The total length of the road is 112 kilometers, and the road projects in use today include a network of tracks, roads, intersections and bridges on three main axes.
1. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road
The first axis, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road, is a new route that represents an extension of Sheikh Khalifa Road (E84) to the Emirate of Fujairah.
The axis extends from the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa Road and Sharjah-Kalba Road (E102), continues through the Mleiha area and Al Madam area of the Emirate of Sharjah, and finally reaches the Al Shuwaib area of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
It has a total length of 52 kilometers, 3 lanes in each direction, and a design speed of 140 kilometers per hour.
2. Watan Road
The second axis is Al-Watan Road, which represents a direct connection route between various regions. It has 3 lanes in each direction, a total length of 42 kilometers, and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
This axis extends from the Hatta region and passes through the Masfurt region, the Almunay region and the Wadi Al Khur mountain range in the Emirate of Ajman. Then it intersects the first axis of the Mleiha area in the Emirate of Sharjah.
3. Dubai-Hada Road
The third axis of the project is the Dubai-Hada Highway, which includes the development and improvement of the Dubai-Hada Highway between Nizwa and Al Madam in the emirate of Sharjah.
It has three lanes in each direction instead of two, and the speed is 120 km/h. The length of this lane is 18 kilometers.
This road includes the construction of a vehicular intersection in the Madam area and two bridges on the Madam roundabout. The project also includes the development of the current lower intersection to the Al Nizwa area and the construction of four pedestrian bridges in the Madam area.
Shorter travel time
The new road project will shorten the distance and time between areas.
The second axis, along with part of the first axis, will shorten the distance between the Al Madam roundabout and the Hatta area from 115 kilometers to 95 kilometers, shortening the transportation time by 30 minutes.
In addition, the first axis will help reduce the distance between the Al Shiwayb area and the Emirate of Fujairah from 115 kilometers to 93 kilometers, thereby reducing travel time by 15 minutes.
