Looking for a high-quality TV show but can’t get it on your TV? You can find Emmy-nominated and Emmy-winning TV shows on DVDs in the library, and new shows are being added all the time.

ABC’s first season “Abbott Elementary School” It’s been a hit on Internet TV for the past year. Nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, this workplace sim features a group of teachers at an underfunded public school in Philadelphia. Critics say it’s hilarious, empathetic to teachers and a wise critique of the education system. The show won Outstanding Writing and Shirley Lee Ralph won the Supporting Actress award. The series also received nominations for a leading actress (Quanta Brunson) and a supporting actor (Taylor James Williams), as well as a second supporting actress nomination (Janelle James). A copy of the Lichfield Library will arrive when the season releases on DVD in mid-October, but you can get on the reserved list now.
