Dubai traffic accident victims receive 600,000 dirhams in compensation-News

[ad_1]

The Dubai Traffic Court held that the driver of the other vehicle was responsible for the accident.

His lawyer said on Saturday that an Indian expatriate who was injured in a road accident had been awarded Dh600,000 in damages by the Dubai court last week after a year of legal battles.

Rijas Mohammed Kunhi from Alappuzha was involved in an accident on the Al Ain-Abu Dhabi highway on January 12, 2020 when another car crashed into him, his legal representative Salam Pappiniseri said.

The Dubai Traffic Court found the driver of the other vehicle responsible for the accident and imposed a fine of Dh5,000.

Pappiniseri said that after the accident, Rijas was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries and decided to file a compensation lawsuit for the damage.

“We filed a civil lawsuit in the Dubai courts, and the traffic accident compensation case is against the insurance company and the driver who caused the accident,” he explained. Khaleej Times.

“We submitted Rijas’ medical report and related documents to the court. The insurance company’s lawyer defended the claim, saying that his injury was not confirmed by the medical report, so the claim was rejected. However, the objection raised by the insurance company’s lawyer was rejected by the court. Rijas received compensation,” Pappinseri added.
