The Chairman of DP World, one of the world’s largest port operators, Sheikh Ahmed Sultan Bin Sulayem, paid a visit on Sunday, the Inter-Services Public Relations Department (ISPR) said. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The pair reportedly discussed relief efforts following the devastating floods and “what can be done on the road to recovery in Pakistan”.
Sheikh Sultan visited flood-affected areas in Sindh province earlier today to donate $2.5 million to the Army Relief Fund.
The DP chairman praised the Pakistan Army’s relief efforts in flood-affected areas, saying that the UAE and its leadership stand with the Pakistani people at this critical time and expressed their willingness to bring other donors for flood relief efforts in the coming days.
The dignitary is committed to raising climate justice issues for Pakistan at the World Forum as COAS thanked Sheikh Sultan for his invaluable and timely support to Pakistan.

Sheikh Sultan also thanked Mr. Fakhr Alam of Sitara e Imtiaz for arranging the visit and making the UAE aware of Pakistan’s need for help.
The economic development of Pakistan was also discussed. Sheikh Sultan informed DP World’s Army Chief of Staff of the interest in further investment in Pakistan.
Notably, DP World is Serving Industrial parks are being set up in Pakistan to attract global investors due to the country’s strategic location and strong economic base.
“Pakistan’s economy has strong fundamentals, resources and an ideal location,” the chairman of DP World said in an interview with the media on Saturday.
Sheikh Sultan also informed the audience that the company is donating millions of dollars in flood relief to Pakistan.
