The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization has warned private companies that false employment of Emiratis will impose fines of Dh20,000 per employee.
A Dh6,000 fine will be imposed on private companies that fail to comply with the stipulated 2% annual emiratization rate, an official from the ministry confirmed. Fines will apply to every citizen not appointed. The decision will be implemented from January 2023.
The official added that under Cabinet Resolution No. (5/19) of 2022, all businesses registered with the ministry with 50 or more employees must increase their current Emiratisation rate in skilled jobs by 2% per year. , to reach 10% by 2026.
Penalties and contributions will be collected from January next year, and if the agency still does not change its status, these monthly contributions will increase by Dh1,000 per year.
The ministry also confirmed that the relationship between the citizen and the company must be a contractual one, with all terms and conditions fulfilled in accordance with the laws governing labor relations.
