L&T Demonstrates EPC Capabilities at Wetex Dubai

Indian multinational Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has showcased its decisive EPC advantages in power transmission, water and renewable energy projects at the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (Wetex) and Solar Dubai 2022.

L&T is a platinum sponsor of the three-day event, which kicked off on September 27 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“As one of the major players in the EPC space, L&T is proud to be associated with Wetex since 2016 as it brings together key developers from around the globe and provides a perfect platform to interact and exchange ideas,” T said Madhava Das, full-time director and senior executive vice president (Utilities) of Larsen & Toubro.

Track record

“This international event also provides us with an opportunity to showcase our track record and capabilities, reaffirm our commitment to the UAE region and strengthen our ties with our key stakeholders,” he added.

L&T Construction’s Power Transmission and Distribution (PT&D) business vertical is a leading global EPC player in India, Africa, ASEAN and the Middle East, in power transmission and distribution, renewable energy, integrated solutions and end-to-end services (from design), Manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of transmission lines, substations, underground cable networks, distribution networks, power quality improvement projects, infrastructure electrification, solar photovoltaic power plants, battery energy storage systems and micro/micro grid projects.

Renewable Energy Business

In the GCC region, the business’ renewable energy segment currently executes close to 2GWp of solar power plant capacity in Saudi Arabia. The business has experience in niche floating solar PV technology and already has an enviable track record in India: 5GWp+ solar portfolio, 150MWh of energy storage projects and over 500 microgrids. It is a one-stop solution for renewable energy generation, concentration and evacuation, substations and transmission lines. L&T Renewables offers flexible solutions ranging from monocrystalline to bifacial PV module technology, central or string inverters and fixed or tracking solutions to suit extreme desert conditions.

UAE’s largest STP

To date, L&T has also successfully commissioned more than 10 water infrastructure projects in the GCC region, valued at over US$1 billion, and has significant operations in the UAE, Oman and Qatar. In 2019, the company commissioned a turnkey sewage treatment plant with a daily capacity of 375 million liters in Jebel Ali, a landmark and key project in the region. — arab trade news agency
