Ed Sheeran debuts ’90s classic entertainment with Surprise O Beach Ibiza

Ed Sheeran surprised club members in Ibiza on Monday (09/26/22) with a performance of Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys pop classic.

The international superstar turned up at the famous nightlife hotspot O Beach for their “Home in Paradise” event, where he performed his hit “Shape of You” before entertaining partygoers with his ’90s tunes.

He begins with his take on the Backstreet Boys’ 1999 hit “I Want That”.

The flaming-haired pop star then shook hands with the crowd before continuing the party with massive singing of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.”

The “Bad Habits” producer – dressed casually in khaki shorts, a T-shirt and sunglasses – ended his mini-suit with Britney’s 1998 classic “…Baby One More Time.”

Promoter Joshua Makinson said, “I was absolutely blown away that Ed came to the Paradise House at O ​​Beach. We’ve had artists come out and perform in the past, but having one of the biggest pop stars in the world perform is magical.”

Meanwhile, Ed will release the single “Celestial” with Pokémon on Thursday (29.09.22).

Announcing the single and his new Squirtle tattoo, he said: “In celebration of Pokémon’s new song ‘Celestial’, I have a new tattoo.”

The “perfect” hit producer – who performed for “Pokémon Go” last year – recalls his childhood obsession with Pokémon trading card games, anime shows and Game Boy games.

Ed still plays the latter on his old Game Boy Color while on tour.

The 31-year-old star said: “I started using Pokémon cards when I was about seven when the craze hit elementary school.

“Then the show was on TV, so I used to try and record it on the same VHS every week.”

He added: “After this, my brother and I shared a Game Boy and Pokémon Blue. I got a Game Boy Color with Pokémon Yellow for my 8th birthday, and being fascinated is an understatement. Flashing at 31 Come on, I still have the same Game Boy Color, and I still play Pokémon Silver on long flights. I really like it.”
