GESS will meet the changing needs of 1.5 million students

GESS (Global Educational Supplies and Solutions) Dubai will address the growing and changing needs of the GCC’s 1.5 million students.

Organised by Tarsus in partnership with the Ministry of Education, GESS will be hosting its 15th edition at Sheikh Saeed Halls, Dubai World Trade Centre, from 15-17 November 2022.

As the largest education exhibition in the Middle East, with a rich conference program and awards ceremony, GESS Dubai will attract more than 6,000 education professionals and more than 250 leading education brands from more than 70 countries to showcase the latest and most innovative products and market solutions, and bring thought leaders to inspire new ideas and challenge the way stakeholders view the future of education.

“From July 2017 to July 2022, the number of students in the region increased by 4.7%, and research tells us this is a key area for growth in the coming years. An important aspect of the show is by providing a networking platform for key decision makers , opportunities to learn best practices from around the world and access to the latest technologies and solutions to enhance the current learning environment,” said Sarah Palmer, Tarsus Brand Director, organizer of the global GESS portfolio of educational exhibitions and conferences.

International exhibitors expected to showcase at GESS Dubai include Microsoft, Schoolbox, OneOrigin, Spotify’s Soundtrap for Education, Promethean, BenQ Amazon Web Services, Viewsonic and more. This year will also see the largest showcases from US and Canadian companies, including EZ-Robot, SMART Technologies, TehnoKids Inc, Notion Wave, Scholastic Inc, Classlink, Edpuzzle, Cypher Learning, Nearpod, Piedmont Payment Services, Speechace, Van Robotics, VIRCO USA, Amplify and Compro Technologies; and a not-to-be-missed area, the Startup Pavilion, where new companies bring their one-of-a-kind technologies to the show.

In addition, the conference program is divided into conference streams that will feature free-to-attend workshops, live case studies, workshops, and panel discussions from world-renowned experts designed to help educators excel in the classroom.

Two of the world’s first speakers in the Middle East are Rob Houben, founder of robhouben.com, and Gavin McCormack, co-founder of Up-School. Rob Houben is an education leader and changemaker who joined Agora in 2015. With five colleagues and 60 students, they started working at the government-funded secondary school without using timetables, courses or age groups.

They start with a simple question: what do you want to do, do or learn? Whatever the answer, they all went from there. Today, there are 20 Agora schools in the Netherlands and Belgium. Other rooms to look forward to include the Global Learning Room, where the latest innovations, education problems and solutions can be addressed; the Education Leaders Conference, a two-day program open to Education Leaders members that looks at what it takes to succeed in senior positions. skills development training, a new feature of this year’s show, will be a series of accredited workshops designed for educators looking to sharpen their toolset skills; and another new space for 2022 , the Growth Mindset Room, which promises to reveal the benefits of learning from mistakes and change and adapting gracefully even when setbacks are encountered.

A much-anticipated part of the event was celebrating the best in the education industry at the GESS Education Awards.
