Muscat — In a statement commemorating his visit to Oman, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke of Oman’s special place in the hearts of UAE leaders and people.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said the longstanding relationship between the UAE and Oman is characterized by a deep fraternity, a shared social and cultural fabric between the two countries.
He expressed pride in the historically close relationship between the leaders of the UAE and Oman, including His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and recalled the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan A special brotherhood between the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
Commenting on the current relationship, the UAE President stressed that “if God wills, the leaders of both countries will continue their paths and methods”.
He said the UAE and Oman have benefited from a diversified economic and trade relationship, which both leaders are keen to expand through further cooperation and investment.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed that the UAE supports measures to further strengthen regional cooperation and progress, and is keen to work with neighbouring countries, including the Sultanate, to promote sustainable development so that people can reach their full potential.
The UAE President also said that the world is witnessing major changes that could challenge the nation, people and interests. He stressed that these developments require strong cooperation between countries in the region, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council and Arab states, to develop their own capabilities to meet future challenges.
