2022 NYC Fall Arts and Entertainment Guide

Fall is finally here and New York City is bustling with art exhibitions, performances and more. Here are some of the things you can expect to see in the art world this fall.

From now until October 5, you can see 40 life-size jaguar sculptures occupying New York City landmarks as This Jaguar Cruise New York 2022Uniquely decorated jaguar sculptures designed by global artists can be found throughout the Bistro Green, United Nations Headquarters, World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial, Central Park Zoo, High Line, JFK, LaGuardia and more Raise funds and raise awareness of the urgent need to protect these animals and their habitats.

Echoing the success of Van Gogh’s immersive experience, a new immersive exhibition celebrating French artist Claude Monet will debut this November. Dubbed “Monet’s Garden: An Immersive Experience,” visitors will be able to explore Monet’s most famous works. The show begins Nov. 1 at the Seaman’s Bank Building at 30 Wall Street and runs through Jan. 8. Tickets are now on sale.

From now until November 12, local artist Ben Ernest Campbell will have an exhibition at Shag at 108 Roebling Street in Brooklyn. In the exhibition titled “New Signs of Devotion,” Campbell’s paintings evoke feelings of longing, joy, pleading, and self-discipline, while highlighting a period of isolation in Campbell’s life that evolved into a rich connection. Shag is open Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 8pm and Sunday from 12pm to 7pm.You can follow Campbell on Instagram @mystic_eyebrow.

Local artist Olya Dubatova will have a new solo exhibition at The Empty Circle, 499 Third Avenue, Brooklyn, from November 16 to December 10. Dubatova’s unique work incorporates paints she makes herself to create art in terms of language, technique, time, place, gender, and more. The piece was created during art residencies in Georgia, the South Caucasus and Italy over the past three years, when it was most focused on exploring materials such as natural pigments and resins from Armenia and Italy. knight gallery There are two shows you don’t want to miss. Through December 2022, you can swing at Pershing Square Plaza West on the west side of Park Avenue between East 41st and East 42nd Streets in Midtown and see Bjorn Oakholm Sculup ( Bjørn Okholm Skaarup’s iconic bronze sculpture “Hippo Ballerina”. The Cavalier Galleries will also host artist William Nelson’s rookie “PRETTY, Delightful, Desirable, DANGEROUS”. The show, which will collaborate with iconic New York City locations to recreate the synopsis of the famous film, will open on September 29 and run through October 29. The Knights Gallery is located at 3 West 57th Street, 4th floor.

The new art exhibition “MY PEOPLE” celebrates the infinity of black networks through a variety of works. Curated by Philip Collins, the exhibition showcases new work by five artists from various communities and media. MY PEOPLE will be exhibiting on November 5th at the Cultural Club of New York City, located at 185 Greenwich Street (World Trade Center, Oculus, Level C1, South Concourse), open Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 7pm .

This New York City Fire Museum Hosting “The Firehouse: Photography by Jill Friedman.” The show will showcase photos of New York City firefighters at work in the 70s and capture the danger, tragedy, heroism and camaraderie that comes with being a firefighter. The exhibition will open to the public on October 12, 2022, and will be on view until April 2, 2023.

poster house There are two not-to-be-missed shows this fall. The first, “Masked Vigilantes on Silent Motorcycles,” showcases multiple artists and explores how posters have become symbols of capitalism, beauty standards, and public dialogue, leading artists to criticize their own work. The second, “Air India’s Maharaja: Advertising Rogue,” revisits the golden age of India’s travel advertising through the image of the Maharaja. Both will be on display until February 12, 2023. The Poster House is located at 119 W. 23rd Street.

Performing Arts and Screenings

New York Pop will kick off its 40th anniversary season at Carnegie Hall! The new show “Star Wars Music” will include music from nine “Star Wars” movies as well as movies from the “Star Wars” cinematic universe.For more information on The New York Pops schedule, visit newyorkpops.org.

Movie lovers can gather this fall at the Cinema Center at Lincoln Center for the 60th annual New York Film Festival. From September 30th to October 16th, all movie lovers can watch a plethora of movies, short films and more at Lincoln Center.For more information, please visit movie site.

Are your spines shaking during this creepy season? The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival is back this year with tons of thrilling films that will definitely keep you awake at night. Attractions and Activities

For Halloween fans, the beloved boo at the zoo Returning to the Bronx Zoo this October. The popular attraction will be open every Saturday and Sunday from October 1-30, including the October 10 holiday, during the zoo’s normal opening hours, offering a variety of activities for zoo visitors of all ages, including professional pumpkin carving Demonstrations and displays; magic and mind-reading shows; trick-or-treating on the candy trail and more! For older visitors, the zoo is hosting a new after-hours experience called Dinosaurs in the Dark: Hatching.

If you’re looking for family fun, look no further Paley WKND. The Paley Center Museum will take over the block from October 1-2, hosting a variety of events, meet-and-greets, demos, and more for all to enjoy. Did we mention it’s free to the public?

For all the pop culture and nerds (in the best way possible), New York Comic Con Will return to the Javits Center October 6-9. Whether you like to fully cosplay your favorite characters, or just want to browse the booths, New York Comic Con has something for every self-proclaimed nerd and geek. For those looking to get a head start in winter, Winter Lantern Festival Returning to New York City.This year’s festival will illuminate two different locations, starting at SIUH Community Park in Staten Island from October 21, 2022 to January 8, 2023, and then from November 11, 2022 to January 2023 8th to Queens County Farm.
