To support women entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs in Abu Dhabi and help them increase their contribution to the UAE’s economic development process, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board of Directors has re-established a new Board of Directors for Abu Dhabi, the Women Entrepreneurs Committee (ADBWC).

The mission of the new board is to help women entrepreneurs improve their skills; educate them about applicable laws and policies; and help them learn how to benefit from local and federal government initiatives and incentives, to name a few.

Chaired by Asma Al Fahim, ADBWC includes members from the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and successful Abu Dhabi businesswomen including Nour Al Tamimi, Dr Khadija Al Ameri, Marwa Al Mansouri and Sheikha Al Nuwais.

“Over the past 50 years, the UAE has made women’s empowerment a top priority and has supported Emirati women as key partners in building the UAE,” said Chairwoman Al Fahim, commenting on the new establishment of ADBWC.

She said the support of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairman of the Women’s General Union, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairman of the Family Development Foundation and Honorary Chairman of ADBWC, played a huge role in women’s development. All fields, especially entrepreneurship. “Thanks to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima, this Emirati woman now has all the ingredients for success to take her rightful place regionally and internationally.”

Al Fahim noted that ADBWC is keen to increase communication with women entrepreneurs in Abu Dhabi to keep them abreast of the latest economic changes, noting that the council will launch new initiatives and programmes to support the business environment and provide women entrepreneurs with all necessary tools that enable them to benefit from all business opportunities in local, regional and international markets.
