Mercury will gradually decline, with maximum and minimum temperatures significantly lower by the end of October.
“Summer has ended, autumn has begun, and the atmosphere has high humidity this season,” an NCM official said.
“In general, there is always an increase in humidity in the fall.
“The temperature isn’t going to drop drastically right now. It’s going to taper off and you won’t see a change until the end of the month.”
The muggy weather is associated with northwesterly winds and high pressure to the north from the Arabian Gulf to the UAE.
“Humidity also depends on the source of the wind,” said the NCM meteorologist.
“If you have a northwesterly wind blowing from the sea to land, the humidity will increase.
“But, for example, if the air pressure is low and the wind source is over the desert, the humidity will be lower that day because it’s a dry air mass.”
Fog and mist are expected in the early morning, with occasional instability.
This is especially true if the temperature changes rapidly due to a low pressure system from the north and northwest.
“As the weather changes from hot to cold later in the year, it’s natural. There are times of instability as temperatures drop one day and warm the next,” the official said.
“That’s the character of this fall.”
