ABU DHABI, 5th October, 2022 (WAM) — Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office and Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships will be held in 2022 From 29 October to 8 November in Abu Dhabi.

More than 2,000 men and women from up to 70 countries will compete in the competition organised by the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation and hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF). Athletes will demonstrate their skills in the Adult, Under 21, Under 18 and Under 16 age groups.

Abdel Moneim Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Chairman of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Senior Vice-President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation (JJIF), expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed for his continued support of the sport and athletes in the UAE.

“Abu Dhabi continues to achieve success and continues to organise and host major tournaments. JJIF is now confident in Abu Dhabi’s ability to host events, as evidenced by the city’s third consecutive year of hosting the World Championships.
