Spicy Piggy is the best hug…
Unless you’ve been hiding under a giant bucket in Kentucky for the past year, you’re unlikely to miss the hyped hurricane that accompanied Saudi fried chicken brand Al Baik to make landfall in the UAE.
Last month, we were the first to announce that the queued and oft-spammed Regional Goat Roast Chicken was headed to Abu Dhabi. Now we have more crumbs on the capital’s debut…
It will open at the city’s Al Wahda Mall – which already houses 350 different retail brands, with more to come soon – and we now know it’s going to be an absolute big box store.
Talking about how big this Abu Dhabi location will be, sir. nAvani smalludakaran “This will be Albaik’s largest branch in the UAE, with 9,500 square feet of space dedicated to fast food restaurants in the capital,” said the general manager of al Wahda Mall.
Now this is very spicy news.
And the size of the Al Wadha store may also have other benefits, “tThe layout of the restaurant is designed to handle long queues smoothly” smallUdakaran added.
When will the first Al Baik in Abu Dhabi open..?
We don’t have an exact date, but we do know the fast-food chain’s behavior, well, soon — so it doesn’t seem impossible to expect a mission green light on the NYE side.
Does Al Baik stand up to the hype..?
Taste is always a subjective thing, we’ve tried it – we love it, especially those juicy and spicy nuggets that suffocate after a garlic dip – but of course there are plenty of people who don’t like this particular hype train.
But if we were to take an average to use the wisdom of crowds as a barometer of objective delicacy — we’d point to those iconic serpentine crowds that pop up wherever Al Baik wears his hat.
