UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Ministry of Commerce) And the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced that its citizens are prohibited from travelling to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Africa and Nigeria.

“The UAE’s diplomatic missions in the aforementioned countries are not affected by the decision; cases are handled urgently; official delegations and previously authorized commercial and technical representatives,” they said in a statement to WAM, the UAE’s official news agency.

“In the joint statement marking the beginning of the tourist season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is currently experiencing special circumstances. MoFAIC and NCEMA emphasized that UAE citizens need to comply with all preventive measures in general, especially the COVID-19 countermeasures. And all other preventive measures in the destination country,” it said.

The two entities also emphasized that if UAE citizens test positive for COVID-19 during travel, they need to insist on self-isolation and ensure compliance with all instructions, requirements and health procedures applicable to the host country.

They were also required to notify the UAE embassy in the host country to prevent them from becoming infected.

On Friday, India had 46,617 new coronavirus infections in a single day, bringing the total to 3,04,58,251, and the national recovery rate has exceeded 97%. United Ministry of Health.

The death toll caused by COVID-19 rose to 4,00,312, and the daily death toll was 853.

It said that so far, more than 340 million doses of vaccine have been vaccinated in the nationwide vaccination campaign.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 1,675 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, as well as 1,556 recoveries and 8 deaths.

As of July 1, the total number of cases in the UAE was 634,582, while the total number of recovered people was 612,998. The death toll is now 1,819.
