(Tuckerton, NJ)— outcrop will be Lizzie Rose Music Room Saturday, November 19. From the woods of northern New Jersey, The Outcrops presents raw blues rock. Show time is 7:30pm.
The four-piece band formed in 2016 with vocals and rhythm guitarist Cassidy Rain and lead guitarist Bryan Schroeder. As a singer, Cassidy has been compared to Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi, but her raw sensibility as a vocalist makes it easy to draw comparisons to blues legends like Howlin’ Wolf or Muddy Waters. As many fans have pointed out, Brian’s performance is somewhere between Duane Allman and Derek Trucks. Brian also noted that Jerry Garcia was a major influence. His long, flowing threads throughout the song interweave with Cassidy’s vocal phrases, creating a very melodic sound that sets the tone for The Outcrops. The band’s rhythm section includes bassist Jason Casanovas and drummer Max Adler. Both Max and Jason brought a funk and soul vibe that blended perfectly with Cassidy and Bryan to create their band labels: Rock & Roll, Blues & Soul.
Tickets are $23, available for purchase online. The Lizzie Rose Music Room is located at 217 East Street, Tuckerton, NJ. The venue is handicapped accessible and offers free parking.
CASSIDY RAIN – vocals / rhythm guitar – Cassidy’s musical journey began long before she could remember—she was singing and memorizing songs when she started talking. When she was 5, her parents bought her a tape recorder, which she used to record songs she heard and sang. By the time she was 10, she was already writing her own songs. At 14, she picked up an acoustic guitar, and it became her favorite companion; she took it with her—to school, to the beach, everywhere. Her guitar also had some bruises and bruises from their adventures.
BRYAN SCHROEDER – lead guitar/backing vocals – Bryan’s musical journey also started early, playing in his father’s band from a very young age. There are pictures of him on stage with his cousin and his dad’s band, with toy guitars in hand. However, Brian’s first musical career was playing drums, which he played for many years before learning to play guitar. When he moved to California, he started to really hone his guitar and was able to spend hours a day playing it.
JASON CASANOVAS – Bass/Accompaniment – Jason is a pocket player. He is widely recognized for his infectious smile and the rhythm his bass and body create in live performances. As Jason poured out the bottom, the audience couldn’t help but stand up, smile and dance. He plays instinctively, with an undeniably natural feel.

MAX ADLER – Drums – Max completes the outcrop rhythm section with smooth grooves that carry the band like the ebb and flow of a river. Like the great blues, soul and rock bands of the 60s and 70s, his style is based on jazz. A student in the jazz program at Montclair State University in New Jersey, Max uses his knowledge and skills to add flavor and dynamics, imprinting his style into the sound of the band.
The Outcrops named “Band of the Year” in 2020 make waves. The band just released their “Live Extended Play” on Spotify, iTunes and YouTube. The EP, previously only released in physical form, includes the previously unreleased original blues song “Colorblind.”
