R. Kelly hopes to be dropped for exposing his partner to herpes

[ad_1]

After a year of delay, R. Kelly is finally going to court to begin his first phase Sex trafficking trial In New York City. When selecting jurors, his goal is to introduce his medical history in detail before the discussion in the court.

Haggis Kelly filed a document in the Eastern District of New York today and asked the court to drop the allegation that his former sexual partner was deliberately exposed to herpes. Insider reported that Kelly’s lawyers Thomas A. Farinella and Nicole Blank Becker stated that prosecutors made multiple allegations of sex trafficking wrong.

In addition, they said that the singer “in the name of love” should not be accused of violating New York law when he was accused of providing herpes to the two plaintiffs. Kelly also added that the legislature did not include herpes in the law because it “is not an acute bacterial venereal disease.” His legal team also argued that due to the definition of the New York State Department of Health and the World Health Organization, compared with syphilis or gonorrhea, the virus does not fall into the category of venereal diseases.

It is not clear whether the judge will drop the charges against Kelly, but we will pay close attention once the opening statement begins. Kelly’s trial is scheduled to begin on August 18 and is expected to last four weeks. In addition to herpes charges, he also faces federal sex trafficking charges in Chicago and state-level sex related charges in Illinois and Minnesota.
