The work of 35 artists, designers and architects from across the Middle East will take place at Jubail Island, a Dh10 billion development in Abu Dhabi’s mangroves, from 15 to 23 October.
The free exhibition, titled “The Art of Living,” will feature 22 projects, including installations, objects and art. Organisers say the event will “celebrate the depth and diversity of creative minds in the Middle East with myriad interpretations of the twin themes of new traditions and connection to nature”.
Featured ideas come from the region.they include Emirati designer Omar Al Gurgfounder of Modu Method, a design firm primarily focused on furniture; and Emirati visual artist Rawdha Al Ketbi, who works in photography, mixed media and installation art.
Omar Nakkash, from the famous Dubai furniture store and Design company Nakkash Gallery, will also participate. The same goes for Natalia Shustova, who will set up a temporary interactive piece called renew Via her design studio Gosha Buro. Combining architecture, interior design, poetry and installation art, Shustova’s work blurs the lines between reality and fantasy, celebrating the new and the desire for emotional and spiritual renewal.
Other participants included French-Lebanese designer Carla Baz; interior designer Gregory Gatserelia; Aya and Mounaz Abdel Raouf, the duo behind fashion brand Okhtein; Mohamed Al Kahhal, who ran the famous Egyptian carpet house Kahhal in 1871; and lighting Designer Nader Gammas.
Depend on Middle East Architectural DigestArt of Living was created to give area artists and designers a platform to express their creativity, and to provide them with “a creative opportunity that is not typically limited by client profiles, budgets or commercial benefits,” the magazine said.

Ain Mahal Village, a 240-villa beachfront community, announced earlier this year. Built alongside a waterway with views of the sea and mangroves, the project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2025.
Art of Living takes place on Jubail Island daily from 15-23 October from 6-11pm. Admission is free, but registration is required.provide more information here
