The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the winners of the ‘Creative Innovation Challenge’ competition, launched at the North Star Dubai event, in conjunction with the largest technology event, Gitex Global 2022.
The competition successfully attracted 50 projects from entrepreneurs from the creative sector at local, regional and international levels, and showcased its innovative solutions to protect, communicate and celebrate the UAE’s cultural heritage using the latest technological means at Dubai Culture’s North stand The Dubai Star .
As part of the event, Dubai Culture organized an awards ceremony to award the winners, the first place was POPMII from France, who received a $5,000 prize, and the second place, LISAN AI, who received a $3,000 cash prize. CARROTPHANT INC finished third and received $1,000. The three winning projects were selected after their respective owners presented their projects to a jury of experts in the fields of heritage, virtual reality applications, artificial intelligence and Web 3.0.

Unique approach to cultural heritage protection
The first Creative Innovation Challenge is a global initiative that successfully attracts local, regional and international start-ups working in the cultural and creative industries to devise unique ways to retrieve, reimagine and develop ideas for the preservation of cultural heritage.
This aims to encourage the use of modern digital technologies for interactive experiences that effectively tell stories and ideas to facilitate experience transfer and knowledge exchange.
In addition to earning free admission passes to the event itself, including Gitex Global, as well as access to the conference and exhibition areas, the challenge offers top 10 startups the opportunity to participate in an investor program. They have also received invitations to participate in the Innovative Global Startup Forum, which will help them build excellent business networks.
