ABL Group has been appointed as the Marine Warranty Inspector to review and approve critical offshore and offshore operations for the Belbazem project offshore the UAE.
“The Belbazem Block development is a prestigious project and we consider it an honour to be appointed marine warranty surveyor,” said Paul Miles, Head of Energy Services, Middle East, ABL Group.
Located 120 kilometers northwest of Abu Dhabi, the Belbazem project consists of three fields, each of which will have an offshore wellhead tower installed, connected to the Zirku Island terminal in the Persian Gulf by 60 kilometers of subsea pipelines and cables. Al Yasat Petroleum Operations Company Ltd. is an operator of oilfield development.
Within this scope, energy and maritime consultancy ABL Group will provide Maritime Warranty Survey (MWS) services, including review and approval of critical maritime and offshore operations, including loading, transport and installation at the Abu Dhabi-manufactured facility.
ABL Group will utilise local staff to undertake all MWS services through its Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices, maximising the UAE’s domestic value.
In the UAE, ABL Group has a large and diverse team of seafarers, engineers and shipbuilders who together provide complete services for similar large-scale energy transportation and installation (T&I) projects. For more than 20 years, ABL Group has been a service provider in the energy and marine sectors in the UAE and the Middle East.
“The ABL Group has offices around the world because we believe in a strategy of being close to our customers to contribute to local employment and value creation while addressing challenging offshore and onshore challenges,” added Paul Miles.
ABL Group has not disclosed the value of the contract.
