An Abu Dhabi resident filed a countersuit against his ex-wife, and the appeal was dismissed.
When the man and his wife separated, the court handed custody of the daughter to her mother. The man then filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife, demanding that she be stripped of custody because she misbehaved and she couldn’t take care of their children. The woman counterclaimed at the time, but both cases were dismissed.
The man explained that after the two lawsuits were dismissed, his ex-wife sued again to increase the alimony from Dh7,000 to Dh10,000 per month. She also demanded Dh500,000 for tuition fees from her daughter.
The man said the suits were malicious and filed a lawsuit seeking Dh51,000 in damages from his ex-wife.
After hearing from all parties, the Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal upheld the trial court’s previous ruling, which dismissed the man’s lawsuit against his ex-wife.
