International ride-hailing app Yango has launched in Dubai, marking the company’s first foray into the GCC market.
A statement said the service has obtained all necessary permits and has been approved by local authorities to operate in the emirate.
The service is present in more than 20 countries in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
“We are delighted to officially announce the launch of our service in Dubai, one of the most influential economic hubs in the region, attracting investment and people from all over the world. Demand is high and the highest service standards, attention to detail and smart technology that Yango brings to its customers can really make a big difference. We are delighted to offer our users in Dubai a unique and advanced ride-hailing service,” said Yango GCC General Manager manager Islam Abdul Karim said.
To request a ride, users simply download the app, launch it, and select a destination. Using the customer’s geographic location, the service will alert the nearest driver. Users can choose from two levels of ride service: Comfort, which allows them to ride in luxury vehicles such as the Lexus ES; and Premier Tariff, which ensures users access to luxury vehicles including GMC Yukon, Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 series car and promises the highest level of customer service at a slightly higher price. Vehicles on both tiers will offer phone charging lines and bottled water, while the Premier tier will also offer passenger appointments.
“Unlike other players, Yango offers fast car dispatch thanks to its exclusively developed technology that helps reduce the time drivers spend finding customers or driving to their destination. Although drivers can only take one ride at a time, But if a customer is hailing a car near the destination where the driver will end their trip, they can arrange to pick up a new customer in advance. This will reduce empty miles and help reduce traffic congestion in the city,” the statement said.
For example, a ride from One&Only Royal Mirage in Marina to Mall of the Emirates would cost around AED 52.5 comfort class and AED 56 for premium class, while a ride from La Mer Beach to Dubai Mall would cost around AED 39 comfort class AED42 in the dirham and it said, Premier.
The Yango app is available for free download from the App Store and Google Play in several languages, including Arabic and English. – arab trade news agency
