Belarus, UAE seek to expand trade and investment cooperation

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Representatives led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vadim Shagoiko held a video conference with representatives of the United Arab Emirates to discuss the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Ways to invest in cooperation.

Presentations were made by Rogachev Milk Canning Factory, Kalinkovichi Dairy Factory and Mozyr Dairy Products. The Afghan side praised the high quality of Belarusian products and expressed their intention to buy them. The two sides agreed to continue negotiations in the near future.

From January to August 2022, the trade volume between Belarus and the UAE increased by 181.1% compared with the same period in 2021. Food exports increased by 186.9%.

The main Belarusian exports to the UAE include milk and dairy products (up 3.3 times), including skimmed milk powder (up 4.2 times), fish and fish products (up 146.4%), including finished or canned fish, sturgeon caviar and its Alternatives (up 154%) and eggs and egg products (up 98.1%).

At present, 21 enterprises have obtained halal certification, including 14 dairy enterprises and 7 poultry meat and poultry by-product manufacturers.
