Ed Sheeran feels like he’s raising his two daughters in the “trenches.”
The 31-year-old singer, who shares two daughters Lyra Antarctica and five-month-old Jupiter with wife Cherry Seaborn, 30, also revealed that he has taken his children on tour.
He told Good Morning America on Friday (10/14/22) about how he’s coping with parenthood: “It’s been great. We’re in the trenches. They’ve been on tour with me. My second daughter is with us. Born on tour, but my first daughter came to the show and she knew it.
“I think she thinks other people’s dads can sing, though.
“It’s every cliché that people talk about parenting. You love two kids exactly the same, but totally different. I really enjoy being a father of two.”
Ed said in November that having Lyra Antarctica was a “blessing” and a “miracle” after he and Cherry had been trying to conceive “for a while”.
They gave birth to their eldest daughter last August after a natural conception while on holiday in Antarctica, which inspired the girl’s name.
The singer told fans in May that he and his wife had a second daughter, saying he was “happy” to be a father again.
He announced the news by sharing a photo of white baby booties on Instagram, saying: “Want to let you all know we have another beautiful baby girl. We all love her so much and would love to be a family of four home of the mouth.”
Ed also said he wanted to add more kids to his own, saying on the Open House podcast in June: “I would obviously be very grateful to have more kids, but I think girls are far more than boys. Superior. As a boy, I feel like I can say that.
“I think we’re lucky to have someone who I think I’d obviously love more. But I think we’re lucky to have only one. So basically I’d be happy if nothing else happened.”
