Naomi Watts can relate to her screen role in Watchmen.
The 54-year-old actress starred in the new Netflix series alongside Bobby Cannavale, Jennifer Coolidge and Mia Farrow, and Naomi admitted to being involved in her role.
The actress, who played Nora Brannock, said: “Part of the reason I wanted to do it was because I felt like this story could be anyone’s story.
“We all like to think we can get our dream home and then in the end you get it and then it doesn’t go the way you want it to. So, I identify with this family and this couple.”
Naomi’s on-screen family moved into their dream home before being overwhelmed by ominous letters and menacing threats.
The actress appreciates getting some “creative license” during filming.
She told PEOPLE: “We know very little about the family, despite how powerful the story is. So the creative license has been taking us.”
Meanwhile, Naomi previously revealed that she “always knew” Tom Holland was destined to star.
The actress appeared alongside Tom, 26, in the 2012 film “Impossible” – in which she played his on-screen mother – and Naomi has long believed he had the potential to become a big star in the film industry. .
Speaking of her former partner, Naomi explained: “[It’s] So wonderful. I’m really happy for him. I always knew Tom would go on and have a very good career. “
Tom – who is dating Hollywood star Zendaya – is best known for his role as Spider-Man in the lucrative movie series.
But Naomi never thought he was an obvious candidate for the sought-after role.
She said: “I didn’t think about Spider-Man. It was just, you know, not what I thought, but I knew he had everything.
“It’s a kid who’s making his first film, has an incredible emotional experience, is disciplined, and I don’t know if that comes from his background in dance and movement.”
