Representatives from Japan’s leading universities and higher education institutions are currently visiting the UAE in an effort to recruit some of the UAE’s brightest high school and university graduate students to continue their education in Japan.
The institutions will participate in NAJAH, one of the largest higher education events in the UAE, and will be present at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) from 16 to 18 October 2022.
Five universities will be participating in person at the event:
• Hiroshima University
• women’s art university
• Kyoto Advanced University of Science
• Kyushu University
• Nagoya University of Commerce
Three additional universities will participate online:
• Ritsumeikan University
• Aizu University
• Waseda University
Led by JICE (Japan Centre for International Cooperation), which aims to encourage Emirati students to develop their academic minds in Japan, JICE will host the Japan Pavilion at NAJAH in Abu Dhabi.
Prospective students and their families will be able to meet face-to-face or online with representatives of Japanese educational institutions through dedicated Smart Stands, connecting students directly with representatives in Japan.
Emirati students who have previously studied in Japan will also provide practical information and details of their experience studying in Japan at the Japan Pavilion, along with staff from the JICE Abu Dhabi office to advise prospective students and their families.
All eight participating universities in the Japan Pavilion offer not only undergraduate and postgraduate education in Japanese, but also courses in English, especially in fields such as aerospace engineering, international relations, biotechnology, robotics, social welfare and business sciences, which are popular among Emirati students .
Shigeto Aoki, General Manager of the JICE Abu Dhabi office, said: “Since the opening of the JICE Abu Dhabi office in 2013, JICE has been supporting Emirati youths to further their studies in Japan, where there are many fields of study to choose from. Japan’s leading universities are keen to Welcome to the brightest students in the UAE. There are currently 74 Emirati students studying in Japan and we hope to increase this number even further.”-TradeArabia News Service
