Co-founded in 2019 by veteran sales and production executives Steve Chicorel and Kelly Mi Li (“Bling Empire”), Organic currently operates in Taipei, Los Angeles, London, Riga and Brisbane. The operation is now led by Chicorel and Shari Hamrick, and is currently in post-production on two films and the second season of the Roku series “Cypher.”
The strategic partnership between Organic and Shoreline is a reunion for Sam Eigen, CEO of Chicorel and Shoreline. Chicorel served as a Shoreline executive from 2002-03 when Eigen was first hired by the company.
Eigen has since expanded Shoreline from development and production to sales, aggregation and streaming. It has 25 employees and a library with over 4,000 titles.
Since leaving Shoreline, Chicorel has held various positions in Los Angeles and Greater China, including at Western content financier Double Edge Entertainment. He was instrumental in bringing a number of Western productions to mainland China, including Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games.
At MIPCOM, Shoreline will market a package of 6 new organic films currently in development, with the big-budget series “Nimo”, led by producer Alexander Kessel (“Strings”), highlighting 11 organic films in the series.
Organic’s mid-budget sci-fi series includes “Interface” with series director Carl Seaton (“Equalizer,” “Bull,” “Belair,” “The Godfather of Harlem,” “Batwoman”).its Lower budget comedies include “WTFitness,” It is now led by comedy show host Craig Anderson.
Shoreline will also handle the overseas sales of two completed Organic series, including Studio Katara’s award-winning Russian TV series “Strings” and “The Pact,” currently airing through Organic’s output deal with Roku.
“Partnering with Shoreline is a lifesaver because they are involved in so many markets and we can now focus more on developing and delivering a variety of content,” Hamrick said.
“As acquisition executives often pre-order packaging and finished products in advance, this will be a win-win for both companies to synergize to drive more traffic and reunite with old friends in a new beginning,” Eigen said.
