Signature Entertainment Acquires “Never Ending Murder”

[ad_1]

“Never Ending Murder”, an investigative true crime documentary series about the disappearance of 18-year-old British woman Nicola Payne (above right), has been captured Signature Entertainment.

Signature has acquired the worldwide rights to the series, which is produced by Fuwei 73StudioPOW and Picnik Entertainment, and will sell international rights in upcoming major markets.

The series will be released in the UK and Ireland in 2023.

“Never Ending Murder” revisits Payne’s disappearance in Coventry, England in 1991, which led to one of the largest investigations ever undertaken by the West Midlands Police Force. The series includes interviews with family and friends, including her father John Payne (above left) and eldest brother (and family spokesman) Nigel Payne, as well as those closely associated with the case, including retired detective Malcolm Ross and Martin Slevin, one of whom was the lead investigator at one point.

Directed by Mark Radice, produced by Venita Kidza. Sheldon Lazarus, Kevin Proctor and Nicola Pearcey executive produce.

Signature’s acquisition and development director Elizabeth Williams and Picnik CEO Nicola Pearcey negotiated the deal.

“We are proud to be working with Picnik, StudioPOW and the award-winning Fulwell 73 team on this important true crime documentary about Nicola Payne, whose case has remained unsolved for decades,” Williams said. An opportunity to understand what happened and hopefully bring an end to her loved ones. We expect the response from the global audience will be important.”

Fulwell 73 director Leo Pearlman said: “We all feel that the importance of telling this story and bringing it back to the forefront of debate in this country cannot be overstated. We must all ask ourselves, more than 30 years after Nicola’s murder, whether Nothing has really changed. This is a very important film and we hope it makes us all question our society. Most importantly, we are so grateful to Nicola’s family for being brave enough to share their story with us.”
