The UAE government said the new customs inspection centre inaugurated yesterday at the port of Ajman will “strengthen security systems, protect society, develop inspections, facilitate trade and combat attempts to smuggle contraband”.
The new customs inspection centre at Ajman Ports was inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Head of Ajman Ports and Customs Department, at an opening ceremony yesterday.
He explained that the center has the best intelligent monitoring systems and other inspection equipment, and has the most innovative technologies in customs inspection, seizure and storage.
It also includes a platform for expedited customs inspections to simplify, facilitate and speed up the process. Finally, the center also houses training facilities to enhance the capabilities of customs officers.
Mohamed Al-Awadi, Director-General of Customs, said the new customs inspection centre is a positive move to strengthen the security and trade system.
